Presented by Anonymous Autonomous
Last year when we hosted our summit (summary), there were there not many opportunities for those exploring the autonomous design space to come together to share learnings.
The space is maturing quickly and we’re at a stage where teams are shipping to testnet, mainnet and starting to build player communities. Only by shipping real products to players, can we test and validate how we can build meaningful virtual worlds onchain.
Hence, the theme of this year’s event is…
→ Modding. Extendability. Composability.
Goal of event
The goal of the event is to:
- Advance the narrative around composability within the onchain games ecosystem
- Provide teams with a ship date with regards to reasonable liveness via testnet or mainnet
- Simulate a free market environment for developer attention amongst attendees
- Experiment, design and ship some working examples of live mods
Structure of the event
- The event will be focused on designing and building mods for whitelisted games
- There will be two tracks to participate in:
- Track 1 — Conceptual design
- Design a mod for a game purely conceptually
- Need mockups and product specs
- Allows for non-technical individuals to directly contribute to the event
- Will be converted into a funded bounty post-event
- Track 2 — Hack and implement
- Attempt to development and implement a live mod for a game
- Ideally producing a prototype or at least partially functional outcome
- Standard “hackathon project

Focuses for this event
- Participatory: Rather than purely host a conference style event (more doing, less talking) this year’s event will look a bit more like a mix of a hackathon and game jam = ‘mod jam’.
- Live/nearly live games: Presenters will be showcasing their game with the intention for the attendees to design, hack and build new player experiences on top of the games themselves.
- Player focus: Unlike before where there was only developer participation, we’ll be actively looking to invite existing players and guilds of onchain games to attend and participate.
- Demonstration: The idea outcome of this event is to not only leave with a variety of great ideas for the community to build and work on but produce several concrete demonstration of composability that would never be possible before.
- Narratives to explore: Cross game composability. Player communities and guilds.
Rules and operating principles
- We will be curating the attendees to limit unnecessary BD salesmanship at the event.
- No passive investors at the event. The only investors allowed are individuals who have made a meaningful contribution to the progress of the autonomous worlds space.
- Games presenting need to either on testnet or mainnet. No pre-launch shilling.
- Even for the presenting projects, we expect everyone to participate in the game jam.
- We’ll continue to overbrand the event and continue to keep it community orientated.
What you can expect from the schedule
- Day 1:
- Context setting key note presentations by community members
- Game demos and presentations by teams
- Formation of mod jam teams
- Day 2:
- Work on your idea and mod/project!
- Day 3:
- Presentation of everyone’s project
- Community BBQ / Community dinner
